Ari Rosen

Ari started Golden State ADU in 2018 with one belief: that the homeowners suffering through LA permitting deserved a contractor who could read a correction sheet without flinching. The first project was a 480 sq ft DADU in Mar Vista — three correction rounds, ten weeks of plan check, and a 14-month build that ran $2,400 over a $310K contract. He still keeps that punch list framed in the studio.

Before founding the studio, Ari spent ten years as project principal at a Silver Lake custom-residential firm, where he led 22 ground-up homes and learned that the difference between an on-time job and a six-month slip is the schedule meeting in week 4 — not week 24. He carries that habit into every ADU contract.

He holds California Contractor License #1098432 (Class B General Building), is a member of the Building Industry Association of Greater Los Angeles, and serves on the LADBS contractor advisory panel for the Standard Plan ADU program.
